Someone I saw at a performance at Bayit Balev

This winter I have returned to perform for some of my favorite crowds, the seniors who live in retirement homes. At a recent one, I ran into one of the most amazing people I have ever met.
Bathsheba Garnet has turned 100. Who is she?
I'm not going to write the whole biography, I don't think I could. But she came into my life 18 years ago, when I was producing my first musical. She went on to direct to shows that I produced, and, she is the one who introduced me to my future wife.
Bathsheba is a legendary teacher of acting. In her last decades, she was commuting between Jerusalem, London, and Toronto, where she would run weeklong intense acting seminars.
When I was performing in two shows that she directed, I learned her fundamental technique. It was transformative.
She is now retired, and has just celebrated her century birthday! What a pleasure it was to perform Sinatra for her and her neighbors. Be healthy and well, Bathsheba!
